The NLX-5 provides one SDI input and output on BNC connectors as well as one optical input and output on ST fiber optic connectors. An XLR5 Pin Female connector provides the camera operator headset, an external audio mic level input and line level output are also provided on 3 pin XLR connectors. GPIO connections are made via a 9 pin female D Sub connector. A headset level control pot and recessed power switch to avoid accidental shut off are also included.

This low power rugged lightweight aluminum enclosure is sandwiched between any V-Mount battery and the camera.

Designed to be camera mounted the NLX-5 from Census Digital is more than a fiber optic transceiver. The unit provides a solution to transmit and receive 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals, including intercom audio, external audio input and GPIO over single mode fiber optic cable using ST fiber optic connectors at distances of up to 10km.
